Unofficial Mid-Term Grades

Unofficial Mid-Term Grades have been calculated and are available under PostEm in Canvas. They are based on the grades for Quizzes 1 and 2 (Q₁ and Q₂), and the average grade on Regular Homework (HW_R) assignments due through Tuesday, March 5 (wk08). The hope is that an estimate based on more data will have more predictive power, and perhaps be taken more seriously, than the official progress report submitted to the Registrar earlier in the semester. A weighted average was calculated according to:

(3Q₁ + 3Q₂ + 2HW_R) / 8

Just like the Progress Reports, an S was issued when this was equal to or greater than 70%, otherwise, a U was issued. Lab, recitation, practice homework, and in-class questions were not considered, nor, obviously, was the final exam.

If you have earned a U, this is the time to take a realistic look at your approach to the course and your resulting performance.
