Accessing WebAssign

We will be using WebAssign as an online resource, both for completing the assigned homework and for accessing and submitting laboratory reports. In order for you to access the system, you will need to know the following information.

• Login to the WebAssign system will occur automatically through the Georgia Tech authentication system. You will not need to memorize a unique login name or password; instead, your standard GT account and password will serve as your portal to WebAssign.
• When accessing WebAssign, please utilize the following URL:
  https://www.webassign.net/gatech/login.html
  This page will invoke the GT authentication service, where you will use your standard ID and password to log in; you will then be automatically redirected to WebAssign, after login. All of your relevant student information will automatically be ported into WebAssign, the first time you log in.
• If you have a pre-existing WebAssign account (from some other course), you should NOT use that prior login information—it will NOT populate you into the relevant sections of physics homework and laboratory activities. You MUST enter through the authentication link, above.
• Time Lag: The database that ports your student information is not maintained in real time, which means that students who register for the course (through OSCAR) will not instantly be added to the roster shared with WebAssign. In such a case, a student attempting to log in to WebAssign will be successful, but will find no courses listed for them once they get in. Please, don't panic, and don't immediately bombard your instructor with an email about how WebAssign isn't working. Be patient, and wait 24 hours, for the database to be properly updated; if you still are having trouble after that, contact Dr. Murray. If you miss any assignments due to time lag, we will award appropriate extensions for any assignments you may have missed.
• The cost of WebAssign is covered by your Lab Fee. Do not make any additional payments to WebAssign. You do not need an "access code". If WebAssign asks your for payment or an access code, contact Dr. Murray.
• Note: If your GT directory information is confidential, the above may not work. Contact Dr. Murray.
