Academic Integrity in the Physics Lab

The policy on academic integrity as stated in the Georgia Tech Honor Code will be fully enforced during this course. In particular:

• Collaboration on data collection is permitted and encouraged.
• Students must participate in the collection of all data submitted under their name. All data submitted must be collected in the lab, during the current semester.
• While students are encouraged to discuss the ideas of the lab with whomever they wish, submitted discussions of the lab results must be written independently and reflect each student's own understanding of their own lab results, however that understanding was developed.
• Unless specifically authorized by your TA, lab reports may not be submitted from anywhere other than the Physics Lab room.

Violations of these rules will be prosecuted as violations of the Georgia Tech Honor Code.

Note that the Honor Code formally defines academic dishonesty as …any act that does or could improperly distort student grades or other student academic records. If you should have any question regarding the propriety of a particular behavior, you are encouraged to discuss the matter with your TA or the faculty member in charge.
